Overview
Mahkoji is a brand that a women started with the intent of creating a lasting legacy for her sons. Encouraging messaging would adorn the brand’s garments. With this in mind every decision that was made from a design perspective required intention and strategy. The logo was the first step in this journey.

Problem
Mahkoji is a name that speaks for itself. The brand needed a logo mark that is strong and would easily translate within various assets: t-shirts, accessories, digital app, website, etc.
Goal
Taking cues from brands such as Nike, Adidas, and the like, I wanted to create a logo mark that would stand the test of time. Certain logo marks are burned into our brains because of their construction and also how companies position them out in the world (marketing). The plan is not only to create a logo; a visual voice that can be taken further is needed.
Solution
I created a logo for an up and coming clothing brand. We want to reach children, yet, we are not aiming to be a “Children’s Place” of sorts. Major fashion labels have children’s departments yet they don’t solely market themselves as children-based. These brands are very popular amongst young kids, and have managed to not become irrelevant or uncool to them. The mark I designed blends the letters M + K, referenced from the boy’s names (and brand name). This mark has the potential be used across various mediums, and grow with the brand’s ascension beyond children’s clothing retail.
