Overview

I was hired by the CPS team to bring forth a strong brand identity, anchored by a distinctive logo. As an avid podcast listener this project was a no-brainer. As an offshoot of Alan Lux Media, the brand identity needed to be distinctive yet relatable to the parent brand.

Recent Project

Problem

The concept of a podcast studio is still a fairly new one. How can we help this great initiative get out to the target audience? The team needed a brand that would attract newcomers in the marketplace.

Goal

The logo has to be easily translatable to the evolving needs of the studio, whether digital or physical. From merchandise, banners, and signage, to social media graphics and other digital usages, the logo should be leveraged with effectiveness. Branding deliverables will build off of the logo and display a distinct connection within one another.

Solution

I created a logomark that is inspired by sound, and signaling: essential aspects of podcasting. The C which essentially emanates the signal/ sound, can be representative of Carolina, Charlotte (within the brand name) and/ or Concord, NC wherein the studio is stationed. The logomark serves as an essential asset in the overall branding toolkit. From there other assets were created that work in perfect harmony.

Takeaways

I learned that intentionality can produced great results. I learned that I can adapt to changing needs and I can delivery within tight deadlines. From this, I desired to learn how I can get better as a designer and communicator moving forward.
